oh 49 has a flathead 6 in it now,also is it alot of work putting it on a dakota frame? and what years dakota frames work?

the best choice is 87-96 you will have to move body mount perches and do some tunnel modifications. or trim the dakota body away from it's floor and firewall. and do the same to your 49. then set the 49 over the dakota floor and firewall and weld them together. this way there is no wiring issues. tunnel fabbing or body mount shifting. and it makes for a nicer truck. check out buds build in this link..https://fordodgetrucksonly.forumotion.com/t128-1953-dodge-custom-build
