Hello from Tucson
Hello everyone, I just found this site a couple days ago and I'm glad to find a place dedicated to our era of trucks. There aren't many. I see some nice builds going on here. I have a 49 panel bought new by my Grandparents and am the third one in the family to own it.
it needs a complete restoration? very happy to be here.
Thanks

Re: Hello from Tucson
looks like I got the pics taken care of. I can't wait to start on it. The plan is for a late model Hemi powerplant. I recently retired then got tired of sitting around and went back to work full time. The plan is th begin throwing my pension at it every month. Hope to begin this summer. Thanks for the link rich, I appreciate it.

Re: Hello from Tucson
John thats a great looking panel. modern hemi will be cool. will you be maintaining the original chassis or changing to a durango or dakota frame?
Re: Hello from Tucson
I'd like to keep the original frame but a frame swap is possible. I'm leaning more toward a suspension upgrade on the original frame. I've been looking into a company in Phoenix that does Dakota based suspension and other custom work. The floor needs replaced also. These things I'll more than likely farm out. Give me a pile of lumber and I'll build you a house but ive never done this type of metal work before.
I can handle most of the other things involved. I'm really itching to start on it. Hopefully this summer.
Right now im looking for a doner Ram with a stick. I think I want to row the gears in it.
Thanks, John
