A guy with a '72 W600 in Wisconsin
Here's one that's on my project list. A '72 Dodge W600 Power Wagon, with a 361 5-speed, Rockwell axles, and double frames. It was originally used by the state of Wisconsin highway department, and had a drill rig on it for getting core samples. The second owner put the flatbed on it, and used it in his masonry business for hauling brick / blocks. The truck's top speed with 6.80 gears is around 45 mph. The truck will pull a tree out of the ground, but I'd like to run gearing a little more streetable, get okay gas mileage, and not get passed by the Amish. The truck needs some attention and a few parts, but it'll be a nice project. I'm undecided what to have on it, but keeping the flatbed and adding an articulating-arm hoist would be neat for picking up / hauling engines and car parts. Any ideas ?
