how do I get the door lock out of my 56 guys?

on the side of the door next to the latch there is a vertical piece about 3-4 inches in length (shown just above and to the right of the lock in the picture) take some pliers and pull it straight out and the lock will come right out here is a picture of a extra lock i have for reference. the lock has a square shaft at the back that just slides out so it won't fight you coming out. the clip looks kinda like a large C clip that goes around the groves seen in the picture of the lock.

Good to hear….No, sorry about the locks. I try and snatch em up when i can off of ebay or craigslist. its nice to have extras laying around especially when one goes out. you can't just pick em up anywhere. good sources to look for are people parting out . any 55-1/2-60 Dodge, especially big work trucks, because no one wants to build them and they are the same cabs and share most of the same parts for our trucks. the other thing to think about is the dodge panels were the same locks and body styles as ours up through 1966. so it opens up a lot more possibilities.

have you tried your local lock smith. he should be able to set new tumblers and provide new keys

I had to get a key blank sent over from the States and the locksmith cut me the keys by hand, all working well thanks, ps locksmith stated, if I get any more, don't take them to him. lol Rolling Eyes
