Re: 52 Dodge B3B Hemi Project
Well I did not get as much done as I wanted to this weekend, I got entrenched in some maintance issues and other domestic issues. However, I did lower th truck and figured out I have dropped it about 8" over the stock set up which is great. I also confirmed that I needed to C notch the frame, whihc I did get basically done. I also found out that I needed to move the rear sliders all th way to back of the newly extended frame to get all of the travel I need. Here are some pictures.

In that last picture you can see that the slider mount is out away from the frame, this is due to the rear frame having a slight twist in it which required me to angle the mount out to get it level.

Nice work. The c both looks solid. You made some good progress. What's next?
Re: 52 Dodge B3B Hemi Project
thanks. I have to plate in the inside of the frame and built the bump stop plate. Then I have to built a shock cross member as well and th rear cross member at the end of the frame. Once all that is done, then I take it all apart, clean the leaf springs, replace the front eyelet, paint them, cut off the srping pads, finish rebuilding the 3rd member, install new axle bearings, seals and gaskets as well as replace the wheel studs one axle (change out the left hand threads with right hand ones). then put it all back together. Once I get there, I will begin on the front end. Seems so easy until I type it all out...

Hopefully I will get some time to work on this when I get home on Sunday. I should have until the end of April before traveling again.

Re: 52 Dodge B3B Hemi Project
so do you think that the wheel is perhaps 3 or 4 inches from the rim to the hub?

Re: 52 Dodge B3B Hemi Project
Sorry for being absent, after my last trip I embarked on another "interim" project which is extending my shop by about 6 feet. Doesnt sound like much but turned out to be a lot of work. I about got it wrapped up and am re-running my air lines and then I should be able to put everything back and get back to work. During this event, I decided I needed yet another Dodge truck and more specifically a diesel dually. So... I begin looking and after many failed attempts finally found one that I thought was worth buying; it is a 98 2WD dually that seems to run really well, had the lift and injector pumps replaced and the trans rebuilt about 100K ago. Upon getting it home I then took stock of what I had obtained and begin to notice all of the little crap that was wrong, broken, notworking or missing. After several trips to some local scrap yards I got her somewhat sorted out.
This is my first diesel and I have a bit of a learning curve, but it is coming along. I just spent about $1000 on some needed parts and accessories, so we will see how it pans out. I do need a passenger side dually fender though...[img][/img]
