Here it is installed on the truck. One point not well seen is that I had to clearance the right side of the plate so that the hood support would still bolt on and function (the arm that holds the hood open). The caps of the MC open fine and it seems to be a good fit.

the I took it all out and began working on the steering. the main problems here are the angle of the Dakota RP and the desired angle of the steering column which is around 40 degrees or so (it was 31 degrees before I moved the column down).

here is the column bracket I fabricated. For those of you with a keen eye, yes that is a exhaust clamp holding the column to the bracket.

In the previous picture you can see where I had made a hole in the firewall, then I changed my mind and move it down which is far better inside the truck. The problem is the angles and getting everything connected.

in this picture I had added a support on the long shaft. I am going to change the U joint right in front of the column to a double because the angle coming out of the column is too sever and it binds. I am not sure how it will all work/fit with the engine but we will see...

Turns out I retained the single U joint, however I made some changes to the configuration and move it closer to the frame so to provide as much engine clearance as possible.

Re: 52 Dodge B3B Hemi Project
thanks all. I just returned from a business trip, but I am going to take the last 2 weeks off of August. I have to do some work on my 98 3500, but the main objective is to get the 52 off the lift or as close as possible. I am going to sunburst in Graham WA this weekend, so maybe I can find that one lone 15x7 aluminum slot wheel I need to complete the set (10s in the rear).

Re: 52 Dodge B3B Hemi Project
I have started my vacation, so I can get to work on the truck. Before I do that I have to do some work on my 3500 first. I am also pandering how I am going to make the firewall in the truck and make it look decent. Like almost all of this build, I am sure it will come together as I begin. I have to finish up the steering linkage, but then it will be onto the firewall.

Re: 52 Dodge B3B Hemi Project
oh ya, it is kicking my butt. I have been meaning to post some pictures and info but it has been consuming me. I ended up moving on to some other things for a while but will get back onto it this week. I made the brake rod last night, so I am ready to get back to the firewall. Then I will remove the engine/trans and weld everything up before putting it back in hopefully for the last time.
the problem with the firewall is the multiple angles and directions, but I think I have a plan. I was also waiting on the trans dipstick as that was an issue, however I ended up getting a Lokar firewall mount one and that solved my issues there. On the up side, the headers fit well and should be out for coating now (here in WA, uncoated headers rust immediately after the first heat cycle regardless of how you paint them).
I finally found my aluminum slots at a local Mopar show/swap meet. Now I have to decide which tires but will wait until I get it running until I worry about that.

I had an euphony yesterday and made some huge progress on the firewall, Hopefully I will get it all mocked up today. I will have to pull the engine again so I can weld it and all of my steering brackets up.
