A Newbe needing alot of advice

Just bought a 1954 Dodge s.b.pickup tallbed and needing to swap out front drum hubs for a disc set up, on a original solid axle. What donor car should I consider ?, Many Thanks, Darrell Dodge.

ok i know there are people out there who have used 70's ram charger, or volare mirada, or magnum discs by machining a bearing spacer of some sort. but if you go to the link below this guy charlie ackers has it all worked out. and he makes himself available to guide you through over the phone

Check out Charlie's site. He uses a volare rotor and a gm caliper.When you get what you need,it would be great if you would do your write up with a lot of pictures so others might benefit from your build

a member on here "derricklaukaitis" used a 93 dodge intrepid rotor and caliper and made up the brackets for the caliper

this one uses a ford probe rotor. hope we helped and welcome from me!!!!

If you are updating to disk brakes, I am assuming you are updating because of more horsepower. If so, why not update the whole front end for better handling and include the disk brakes update for better stopping?

Just wondering how much you are going to gain with just a disk brake update.

I installed Charlie's kit (Rustyhope) on my 1955 C-3-B8 and it was as simple as could be. Charlie helped me find the right brake hoses to fit my truck and also sent me revised spacers at no charge. How many of the other providers will give you their phone number? I used a stock master cylinder from NAPA and have outstanding stopping power with the original OEM rear diff. The hardest part of the whole job was re-drilling the holes in the spindles for the cotter keys because the new stack-up of bearings, spacers and washers covered the original hole.
