New Guy from Maryland

Post by gdaddypaul on Sun Sep 28, 2014 11:40 pm

Hello, folks!
Right around Labor Day, this year, I lucked-into a bone stock '51 B3B. The fellow from whom I bought it (truly a great fella!) had bought it, himself, just a few years ago... Already restored (appears to have been a frame-off resto) by a fellow in North Carolina. Not a show quality paint job but pretty darned good, especially considering that he painted it, himself, in his garage (with a dirt floor, no less!). I'm guessing he is somewhat "vertically challenged" since the top of the hood and the Pilothouse's roof are a little rough, though the vertical and lower-down bits are beautifully done. I learned that his wife had done the interior and I think she did a marvelous job of it! Clearly, they are meticulous amateur restorers in that everything (including re-wiring) were nicely done. Since my seller is getting out of cars, airplanes, bus-to-RV conversions, etc. due to health issues, primarily, he was very, very generous! Along with the truck, he sent me home with a spare hood and a high-side bed (panels). They're both primered, dent free and virtually rust free. Now, I must figure out what they are worth and how to best "market" them as I won't be needing them. Any and all advice would be welcome!
I'm glad to have found this forum and look forward to reading about your projects!
